Personal History
Mother: Valeria Maldroma –deceased-
Step-Father: Livius Sapiens – deceased-
Uncle: Horatius Sapiens
Siblings: None
Cousins: Faustus, Caecilia, Secundus
Background Story:
Valeria Maldroma was one of the many women who had both the honor and misfortune of being seduced and impregnated by the King of the Gods. The misfortune lay, of course, with the inevitable aftermath, in which Hera discovered Zeus’s “latest” set of treacheries, and set about making the “responsible” women’s lives hell and ultimately resulting in their demise. In the case of Valeria, both she and her husband, Livius Sapiens, were killed in the conflict between Rome and the Samnites.
Upon his parents’ death, Basileus was taken in by his paternal uncle, a merchant in Rome who ensured that Basileus received the required training to speak and live among the upper class. Though Basileus did not take well to the philosophical or artistic courses his uncle offered him, his uncle soon realized his skills as a soldier. He excelled at all aspects of martial combat, though his own preferred sport was that of wrestling and he became regionally known as an accomplished grappler.
His regional fame came with several benefits, including his personal allure towards several young maidens. This coupled with a tongue trained by private tutors allowed him a fair number of nightly encounters with the more attractive servants in the area. Of course, this has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. The most recent time however, was by far the worst. Basileus got in over his head, and the fiancé of the girl cornered him in an ally with several friends. Though Basileus was able to fend them off effectively for quite a while, eventually, one of them finally got a good blow in, which created a hole in Basileus’s guard allowing the fiancé and his followers to begin pounding away. Furious at his mistake, and enraged by the pain and humiliation he was receiving, Basileus endured each blow, barely remaining conscious from his constant pummeling.
Finally, when his assailants deemed he had enough, the fiancé drew his gladius to ensure that Basileus would never steal the woman of another ever again. The sword raised, Basileus gazed at it in hatred. For the first time he could remember, he felt something creep into his heart. A cold dread swept in and overwhelmed the defiance that had sustained him for this long. In desperation, he tried to force himself to his knees but failed and crumpled reaching for the man’s leg. As he reached towards his would-be executioner, a loud roar of thunder could be heard as the first lightning of a storm that had gathered while the fight was going on flashed and struck the leader of assailants, instantly slaying him. Terrified by this, the surrounding aggressors scampered off, not willing to fight one who was clearly favored by the gods. Since that day, Basileus has always shown highest honor to Zeus, to whom he rightfully attributes the storm that saved him. He has also restrained his previously wanton nature and tendency screw anything with two legs and has exercised quite a bit more caution before making a late night rendez-vous.
As he is coming of age, Basileus is intending to enlist into the Roman legions and work his way up the ladder of power with his now recovered ego, an air of unerring confidence and a nature to win his comrades trust and respect.

Hey Basileus!
Your profile is looking really good. There is just a couple of changes we would like you to make and then your profile will be approved.
- Please change your character's height a little bit, it's okay if he eventually becomes 6'3" but it's fairly on the tall side for a 17 year old.
- Please take out the examples we provided in how to make a profile (the 'minimally 3 paragraphs' etc)
That's all.
